Model and render Roland’s unique AE10 wind synthesiser
Solution
3D renders. The Roland Aerophone was challenging to replicate in 3D. The shape is very organic in parts with a mixture of curvy and straight lines. Flat elements like the buttons and ports need to integrate nicely with more organic shapes. The model was created in Blender using various techniques including the shrink-wrap modifier to conform buttons and ports to the organic shape. Parallax and displacement techniques were also used to add the screw in the silver part below the mouthpiece and the raised text on the bottom. Renders were created using Cycles render engine at around 20sec per frame.
